The active ingredient in spray tan is DHA, a sugar derivative that is colourless. A cosmetic bronzer is then added to the solution so we can see the product as we apply it to your skin. The bronzer is water soluble meaning any smudging you get as you get dressed or if you choose to sleep in the tan will come off with ease.

Although many people opt not to sleep in the tan purely for comfort, there are other reasons they may choose the 8 Hour / Overnight option.  If you have an evening spray tan appointment you may not want to stay awake for number of hours required for the express tans to develop or similarly if you come in the middle of a busy day, you may not have the option to shower within a few hours as required by some express options.

It’s common to get longer out of the overnight tan, so those needing a tan because they are going away or require it for an extended period  may also choose the longer developing option.
